TOP BEAUTY TIPS FOR BRIDES TO BE
We understand how planning a wedding can be stressful and just a little crazy, and sometimes just plain confusing. The good news is we are here to help! When it comes to your bridal beauty needs we are here for every step of the way. From choosing which hairstyle fits you and your dress to that perfect lip shade that compliments your glowing skin. Here you will find some of our most discussed topics and some of the things that may not have occurred to you. We hope that this guide not only helps in the overall process but gives you peace of mind that this is one thing that will be a stress free and most of all a fun and exciting experience.
Should I buy my dress first?
This may not seem like a big thing pertaining to your hair and makeup BUT the dress is the focal point of your look, and that helps us determine your Bridal Style! So many elements are decided based on your dress. Is the style of your dress classic, romantic, boho, simple, sleek, cinderella, etc? So deciding things like, “Should I wear my hair up or down?”, “Do I want sleek, elegant, boho, tousled?” Are you a super glamorous bride or more of a simple bride? The dress you have chosen helps us to answer all of these questions! Please feel free to show us pictures of the dress and different looks you’re inspired by!
Do I need a bridal trial and why?
Yes, we suggest one and for many many reasons! Most of our brides have an idea in mind for their hair or makeup and having a professional guide you before the big day by helping you choose what style and colors fits your aesthetic, face shape, skin tone, and hair type is beneficial . You may need extensions for the updo your dreaming of. If you’ve chosen to wear your hair down, consider how your hair holds curl and in varying weather. How much volume do you like in your style? When considering different makeup looks, do you prefer natural, natural glam, or full on glam? These terms can be interpreted differently. Having a trial helps us to determine if the color scheme works for you as well as a particular hairstyle.
Communication is key when discussing what you desire. By talking openly and honestly about your beauty likes and dislikes, we can better serve you. Have pictures, ask questions, and most importantly remember this is about YOU! Our job is to make you look and feel like the leading lady of YOUR story!
When should I schedule my trial?
If you are not scheduling your trial to coincide with your bridal portraits or engagement shoot we recommend 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding day. We encourage you to have reference pictures and to take plenty of pictures. We will also take pictures of the finished look. We use these pictures so that we can reference back to them on your wedding day and it also helps you to look back and make any decisions on changes you would like to make.
What is the difference between airbrush and traditional? And which one should I do?
AIRBRUSH
A light-weight makeup applied through an air gun machine that produces a thin, even layer of makeup and creates a very matte finish.
The fine mist of color covers the skin and gives the appearance of a flawless complexion. Your MUA will mix foundation colors for a perfect blend to match your skin tone. Since it’s such a fine mist, your true skin tone shows through which makes it look more natural and not so much caked on. It will not transfer onto clothing and looks amazing in professional photographs! Airbrush makeup is water resistant and provides a long-lasting photo finish set.
TRADITIONAL MAKEUP
A liquid, cream, or pressed powder that is usually applied with a brush or sponge. Traditional makeup comes in the widest variety of any other makeup, with every shade available. It’s also the most versatile of all the makeup; it can be as basic as a sheer tint of coverage, or combined with other properties to create a makeup that targets specific problems. Traditional makeup can also be waterproof and transfer resistant (with the correct products are used, and finished with a setting spray.) Discuss what is best for you with your artist.
